Electromold is a manufacturing company in Melbourne’s North. It is crucial to the production of weapons sold to Israel and used in their genocide against Palestinians, as well as war crimes against civilians in neighbouring countries.
It’s time to hold them accountable. .
Electromold Australia is the most specialised surface coating manufacturer in the Southern hemisphere, operating in defence, aerospace and commercial related processing and surface coatings. A branch of Lovitt Technologies, Electromold is the only chemical processing facility in Australia approved to work with Lockheed Martin and Boeing to produce parts for the F-35 fighter jet, the most advanced fighter jet, known for its stealth and advanced aviation electronics. F35s are also used by the U.S. Air Force in conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Yemen, and sold on to allied militaries.
Israel has been using F-35s to commit massacres in Gaza.
Hundreds of 2000 pound bombs were dropped on the besieged population of Gaza in October 2023 alone.
An estimated 75,000 tonnes of explosives have been dropped on Gaza, more than what was used in the second world war.
Under the Arms Trade Treaty, Australia is obliged not to approve the export of any arms, parts or components when there is an overriding risk that they will be used to commit or facilitate serious violations of international humanitarian law.
Rawan Arraf, executive director and principal lawyer at the Australian Centre for International Justice, has demanded that Australia impose a comprehensive arms embargo on Israel, saying:
“The government has been put on notice, from the international court of justice, the international criminal court, the UN general assembly and other UN bodies, that Israel is committing serious violations of international law.”
Recently, the Department of Defence has effectively contradicted months of denial – amending or lapsing ‘at least 16 defence-related export permits to Israel’, resulting from a review of permits to Israel prompted by months of accusations. Yet Electromold continues to produce parts directly implicated in Israel’s deadly, and daily, massacres.
In June 2024, Israel signed a $3 billion deal with the US for 25 more F-35s - underscoring their central role in Israel’s military strategy.
Electromold holds a number of supply accreditations and contracts with other major weapons suppliers complicit in Israel’s war crimes, including Lockheed Martin, Boeing, BAE systems and Pratt and Whitney, some of the largest weapons companies operating in Australia.
